Amadeep Steel Plant is located at Sangrur in West Bengal India. The name Amadeep actually means ‘the iron plant’. This plant is said to be the third largest steel factory in the world. In the year 1984, the Amadeep steel centre was set up as a subsidiary of Essar Steel Plant (ESLP), an Indian Steel Company. Initially, the facility was used to manufacture pipes, but later changed to manufacturing pipe and fitting process equipment. It has been established since the year 1986. The main manufacturing line is located at the Sangrur port.
The main production area of the amardeep steel centre is Mumbai. The production includes ready-made products and also prefabricated buildings. The products manufactured at the awardee steel centre include motor vehicles, train sets, construction equipments, bridges, helisys, industrial parts, electrical poles, cables, wires, sensors, microphones, computer monitors, etc. The production is carried out at both the local and the central level.
